20TWENTY JAM & NIKE 6.0 KILLING IT COMP

On May 10th, Aberdeen’s Transition Extreme skatepark played host to the 20Twenty Jam. 20Twenty’s head honcho Mingo managed to tempt riders from all over to make the UK trek up north. The park was mobbed with riders, including Dan Lacey, Dakota Roche, Scott Ditchburn, Alex Kennedy, Niki Croft, Gavin Shortall, Shaun Jinks, Bas Keep, Mark Love, not to mention Scotland’s very own Si Gibb, Lewis Watson, Mad Mick and Dean Evans.

The jam kicked off with B group, and as usual, this seems to get better by the year, with guys and girl throwing themselves at everything. A group was a jam format of five riders in each team, with 12 minutes to do their stuff. Standouts were Scott Ditchburn’s 360 barspin to barspin, Bas Keep’s tuck no-hander out of the big transition, Niki Croft going super high on everything and Dakota Roche’s huge 180 drop. Niki Croft took the top spot, with Dan Lacey and Mark Love taking 2nd and 3rd. Niki Croft also received what might be the best BMX trophy in history, a wooden BSD sprocket engraved and crafted by Aberdeen’s #1 key thief Conan.

B Group was won by David ‘Teapot’ Frazer and Marty took away the Nike 6.0 Killing It prize for a big 360 drop. Post-jam festivities went on all night with many stories to be heard in the morning. The jam went off great with a huge turnout and smiles on everyone’s faces. Big thanks to Mingo for putting on the jam and managing to co-ordinate the mass of riders. Enjoy the pics.
